SISAC football: Another win for the Div 1 boys
07 Mar 2017
This week saw three fixtures for boys SISAC football. The Div 1 team played host to Livingston International School on Monday for a friendly match which they won comprehensively with a final score of 9-4. The match was tied 2-2 at half time, but Wellington College firmly took control in the second half, piling on the pressure and resultant goals.
The goal scorers were: Max (2), Efe (2), Olly (2), Gerrard and Roi. The match was a great performance for the boys and it set them up nicely for the U18 football tournament hosted by the College on Saturday March 4th.
The Div 2 team played two matches this week. On Wednesday, the return match against Dulwich was very closely fought: Wellington College surged ahead twice with goals scored by Louis and Roi, but ultimately the game went to the wire and the boys were very unfortunate to concede a goal in the last minute, meaning that they lost 3-2.
The second match provided more heartache with yet another 3-2 defeat where the winning goal was conceded five minutes from time. Taichi and Jasper were the scorers for this match.
Next week, the Div 1 girls play their second game against SMIC on Tuesday and will look to replicate the exemplary form shown by the Div 1 boys.
