School buses

For the convenience of our pupils and parents, we provide a daily school bus service in cooperation with a third-party, licensed and professional transportation company. It operates more than 130 pick-up points in Puxi and 70 in Pudong. Each bus is staffed with a locally employed bus monitor, who manages the children's behaviour and is responsible for their safety and wellbeing during the journey. All parents who wish to avail their children of bussing services are required to read our School bus service policy carefully before the first day of school.

Registration process 
Parents may secure their booking by completing our School bus application form. If a seat and bus route are available, applicants will receive a confirmation letter with the starting date, pick-up/drop-off points, pick-up/drop-off times and the bus monitor's emergency contact information. Bus routes are set and agreed upon with the Shanghai Police Department. Changes to bus schedules and pick-up/drop-off points may occur during the year. Parents and pupils will be informed of such changes in advance.

New school bus route: Welly Line from January 2024

We are pleased to announce the addition the Welly Line, a new school bus route which will serve families who live near the WCIS campus.  

The annual bus fee for the Welly Line is RMB 14,000. Fees are payable to the College annually with a 5% discount or in termly instalments at the full rate. Termly instalments are as follows:

• Michaelmas term – RMB 5,880 

• Lent term – RMB 4,410 

• Summer term – RMB 4,410

Bus fees
School bus fees can be paid annually or by term. If paid by term, charges are as follows:
•    Michaelmas Term – RMB 8,820
•    Lent Term – RMB 6,615
•    Summer Term – RMB 6,615

The annual bus fee is RMB 21,000, payable to the school, and applies a 5% discounted rate compared with the termly fee option. Bus Company is responsible for issuing all relevant tax receipts.Bus fees must be paid on time. Pupils with overdue payments will not be permitted to use the bus service until outstanding accounts are settled with the School Finance Department. The bus fee is non-transferable, non-refundable in case of cancellation of classes and shall not be pro-rated for partial use.

Bus schedules
Parents/guardians should wear ID cards when they drop off and pick up their child(ren) at bus stops. All pupils should ensure that their bus ID card is presented for registration when they board and alight from a school bus. Bus geographical distribution and estimated commute are available below. Due to the complexity of our afternoon bus operations, routes and schedules are available upon request only.
