Wellington is now accepting applications for the 2025 - 2026 academic year. There is no application deadline, but as spaces are very limited in many year groups, we recommend parents to apply early and check with the Admissions team first to avoid disappointment.

Applications to join Wellington during the current school year are received all year round, on a rolling basis with spaces subject to availability.
Applicants for Wellington Shanghai will undertake age-appropriate entrance assessment which will take place at the school or remotely if currently living outside of Shanghai. Details of the assessment process can be found in Applying to Wellington.
Wellington College International Shanghai is a selective school but does not select based upon academic criteria alone. In line with the ethos of the College, we admit pupils with a wide range of skills and abilities.
Applications are reviewed by the Admissions Committee after all required documents are received and relevant assessments have been completed. We try to communicate decisions within five working days, however, for year groups with heavy application volume, it may take a couple of weeks. Your dedicated admissions officer will keep you informed.
The College runs a waiting pool for qualified applicants. Please note that the waiting pool is determined by best fit and not on a first come, first served basis. An applicant can be placed in the waiting pool only after the application has been completed, the assessment has been done and applicant has been recommended by the Admissions Committee. A child may be placed initially in a waiting pool to allow us more time to assess seat availability. The Admissions Office will contact families should a child's waiting pool status change. Unfortunately, not all applicants in the waiting pool securing a place in the College.
We consistently perform well above averages. More details on our consecutive set of outstanding outcomes could be found here.
