Wellington's Educational Excursions programme is a driving force behind our mission to shape tomorrow's globally-minded leaders. We want our pupils to engage with the world with confidence, compassion and curiosity. A truly great education, therefore, cannot be confined to the four walls of a classroom. There is an entire world out there where our children can grow emotionally, socially and intellectually.

These excursions are an immersive and fun way for our pupils to enhance their in-class learning. Every trip to a different region or country presents an opportunity to dive deeper into geography, politics, economics, history, ecology, zoology — the possibilities are endless. Along the way, they learn the importance of cultural diversity, tolerance and environmental stewardship as well as important soft skills, like teamwork, communication and resilienc
Educational Excursions widen our pupils' worlds as they strengthen their ties to one another. They may visit Kenya to go on safari, learn about Maasai culture, tour parliament, UN headquarters and meet a key government minister. They may go to Oman to represent Wellington in a global Model UN conference. Or they may go to Phuket, Thailand to compete with their peers in a football tournament. In the process, they expand their horizons, grow their networks and most importantly building strong friendships with classmates.
Every year, we also provide ample opportunities for service learning and community outreach. Some excursions, for example, are charity missions to bring aid to an under-resourced school or to help on a rural development project. Other trips may see our pupils engaging in hands-on conservation work in a threatened ecosystem. Along the way, they discover new ways to make a meaningful impact on the world as they put the Wellington values into practice.
