U13 boys basketball in action!

Last weekend the boys U13 basketball team competed in the SSSA tournament at the Western International School Shanghai. In a five team round robin tournament the boys took a little while to gain momentum. The first match was a close defeat against Kow Chang International School and the boys lost 6-4 with Dario and Aaron scoring the baskets. The second game was against a strong SHISD saw another defeat but the boys showing great spirit losing 0-19. The third game was against hosts WISS and this was the first victory for WCIS. The boys playing with renewed belief and confidence came out as resounding winners with a score line of 12-1 with Stefano, Daniel and Matteo completing the scoring. The fourth game saw another victory against SLC and the boys again dominant with an 8-1 Matteo and Stefano the scoring. Overall the boys finished fourth place and it was a good effort from a team coming together for the first time on the day. With CISSA basketball starting next term it is hoped a season of basketball next term will make this team even better! A special mention to Matteo Schisano who receive the sportsmanship award displaying excellent basketball acumen and playing the game in the right way – well done Matteo! Related Articles
