Wellingtonians see another year of excellent university offers 2023

We are thrilled to announce that several Wellingtonians have received some truly impressive offers in the early rounds of university applications. Our year 13 pupils continue to achieve success in a broad range of disciplines with offers from some of the world’s most prestigious universities. So far, several pupils have received offers from top-10 ranked schools in the UK and US (QS World Rankings 2023). 

Two pupils have the unique distinction of receiving offers from Oxford and Cambridge to study chemistry and mathematics, respectively. We have seen early offers to attend University College London and Imperial College London as well. This means that this year’s cohort has pupils who have been accepted at all four UK universities on the QS World Rankings 2023 top 10 list.   

This also marks the first year that a pupil at Wellington Shanghai received an offer to study at the California Institute of Technology, also known as Caltech. This is the highest-ranked US university offer ever for a Wellington Shanghai pupil. 

The fact that our pupils have been so successful in this difficult and disrupted year is a testament not only to their abilities but also to the dedication and commitment of our teaching and university admissions staff.  As always, our Senior School pupils have had access to the expertise, advice, guidance and support that make all the difference when applying to elite universities.

With many decisions still to come from the regular round of applications in the US and UK as well as Europe, Canada, Singapore and Australia, it is already set to be an incredibly successful year.
