Wellingtonians exceed at British Physics Olympiad

At the end of January, several pupils shone brightly in the Intermediate/Senior Physics Challenge. Three year 11 pupils earned two gold medals at the Intermediate level and one bronze medal in the Senior category.
Just a few months prior, on 23 November 2024, a team of ten pupils in years 9 and 10 also excelled in the Junior Physics Challenge, securing a remarkable haul of six gold, two silver and two bronze medals.

The questions span a diverse range of topics, from the fundamentals of dynamics and electricity to the captivating realms of optics, heat, waves and astronomy.
The true essence of these competitions lies not just in the accolades, but in the passion for physics they inspire among the participants. Our Physics Olympiad CCA, open to pupils from years 9 to 13, has been instrumental in preparing them for this series of competitions, fostering a deep love for the subject and a passion for scientific exploration.
Congratulations to our talented young scientists!
