Wellington's 2021 leavers achieved impressive IB results!
The results of the 2021 IB exams have been released, and, once again, our leavers have given a stellar performance. Their scores mark the culmination of two years of hard work and dedication that will yield massive dividends in the future. Over 1/3 of pupils achieved a score of 40+ (out of a maximum 45) with 1/3 also earning a bilingual diploma.
The IB has a well-known reputation for being challenging, and that is because it is challenging, but that challenging nature is a major part of the IB programme's inherent value. The course expects a lot of our pupils. It pushes them, focuses them, makes them think critically and analytically and, crucially, it opens up new horizons for them.
"The last two years have been very challenging, but our pupils gave it their all", says Martin O'Brien, Wellington's Head of Sixth Form. “They have achieved amazing results and are well prepared to succeed at university and beyond. We are so proud of them!"
“I am delighted for each of our 2021 leavers”, says Ewan McCallum, Head of the Senior School. "Their point scores are excellent, and this, together with all they have learned at Wellington, will allow them to forge whatever path they wish to pursue".
These outstanding IB achievements also follow a year of prestigious offers from some of the world's top-ranked universities, such as the University of Chicago, Imperial College London, University of Southern California, UCLA, Berklee School of Music, University College London, University of Toronto and many more.
