At Wellington Shanghai, the honorary title of Scholar is awarded to pupils who represent the very best of Wellington. It recognises excellence in academics, the arts, or sport, and honours those who embody the character and true spirit of a Wellingtonian. This holistic award celebrates outstanding talent, leadership, genuine curiosity, exceptional potential, positive contributions to the community, and a commitment to upholding and promoting the Wellington Values.

Scholars who show exceptional motivation and talent, with a clear drive to excel, may be awarded a scholarship covering up to 100% of tuition fees. Scholarships are awarded for high performance in academics, the arts and sport.

For prospective pupils:

Families applying from outside the school are invited to scan the code on the poster to complete the enrolment enquiry form. Our Admissions Team will then contact you to arrange the next steps in the process.

Application deadline: 18 December 2026

For current pupils:

For current pupils, the Scholar title award is granted annually by the Scholars Committee. Pupils are nominated by leaders in the areas of academics, the arts and sport and then reviewed by the committee. A limited number of scholarships will also be granted to exceptional Scholars. Pupils (or parents) do not need to apply for this honour themselves.
