Growth doesn't just happen in the classroom. It happens on the pitch, in the pool and on the court, too.

Today, we turn the spotlight on three of our sport Scholars: Ariana, Valerie and Yoshie. Ariana is a member of the China Women's U16 Lacrosse team. Valerie and Yoshie are internationally competitive swimmers.

When asked how they got started, their answers were delightfully real. One joked that her parents initially sent her swimming just to pass the time—only for her to fall in love with it and become an elite competitor. Another found her passion through teamwork and the thrill of competition. To them, being a Wellington Scholar is more than just a honour; it's striving for excellence and leading by example.

Balancing high-level sports with a demanding curriculum is tough. Packed competition schedules leave little downtime. But they're not alone. Our teachers provide one-on-one support to help them catch up on missed classwork, so they can stay focused on their goals.
