At Wellington Shanghai, we inspire every pupil to discover their best selves, preparing them fully for higher education and life beyond school.
Rooted in this vision, our Scholar and Scholarship Programme supports pupils who demonstrate outstanding academic performance, contribute positively to the College community and show deep interest and exceptional potential in specific subjects. It's a unique opportunity for academic and personal growth.

About the Programme
This programme is open to current pupils and prospective applicants worldwide, from Year 7 and above. To be selected, pupils must excel across multiple subject areas, while demonstrating strong potential, genuine passion and notable leadership qualities.
For our scholars, the school offers tailored learning projects beyond the regular curriculum. Pupils who show exceptional motivation and talent, with a clear drive to excel, may be awarded a scholarship covering up to 100% of tuition fees. Scholarships are awarded for high performance in academics, the arts and sport.

The Award
For current pupils:
Scholarships are granted to pupils annually by the Scholarship Committee. Pupils are nominated by leaders in the areas of academics, the arts and sport and then reviewed by the scholarship committee. Pupils (or parents) do not need to apply for this honour themselves.
For prospective pupils:
Families applying from outside the school are invited to complete the enrolment enquiry form at the end of the article. Our Admissions Team will then contact you to arrange the next steps in the process.
Academic Excellence
In 2025, our pupils continued to excel in international examinations. One third of IBDP candidates scored 40 points or above, and the average IB core result was 2 out of 3.

In the IGCSE, over a third of all grades were A* or higher.

Nearly half of the Class of 2026 have already received offers from QS World Top 20 universities, including Cornell, Columbia, Oxford and Imperial College London. Wellington Shanghai pupils have also secured Oxford offers for four consecutive years.
