We are thrilled to invite parents and pupils to our upcoming event on Thursday, October 30 — Visual Arts Pathways to Elite Universities.

 

The creator economy has soared in popularity in recent years, stretching beyond traditional areas like design, architecture and art to encompass gaming, animation, digital media and much more.

 

Creators are powering emerging platforms, allowing creatives to share their work globally and build powerful brands and businesses in the process. The field of visual arts offers boundless opportunities now and in the future.

On Thursday 30 October we invite you to join us as we share our pioneering Visual Arts Pathways to Elite Universities programme. At the event you will learn how our comprehensive visual arts programme accelerates the next generation of creators to academic and artistic success.

Insightful talks by Michael Larsen-Disney, Director of Arts, and Kelly Edwards, Head of Art, discussing our integrated pathways from Primary through to the International Baccalaureate.

 

Case studies of Wellington arts alumni presented by Josh Beard, Director of Higher Education & Careers.

 

Discover the prestigious Arts Fellowship Programme and learn about our new partnership with Oogie Art.

 

Experience sharing by current Wellington Year 11 pupil detailing her inspiring journey in the arts.

 

Meet renowned artist Ian Murphy and learn about his collaborative work with our pupils.

 

Expert talk: "What makes a killer portfolio for top arts colleges these days?" from Jeff Yin, Director of Oogie Art China.

About Ian Murphy

Ian Murphy is a contemporary British Fine Artist who gained initial success with selection to the British Young Contemporary Artists in 1985. He is best known for his powerful, tonal drawings and atmospheric, mixed media oil paintings of architectural places.

 

About Oogie Art

Oogie Art, one of the oldest and most successful portfolio prep schools in the world, was founded in New York City in 1998. Oogie Art students have a 100% acceptance rate to the top 10 art schools in the U.S. Many students also use their portfolios as supplements to help them gain admission and scholarships to the most selective universities such as Harvard, MIT, and Stanford.
