SISAC basketball season starts with double win for Wellington

15 Nov 2017
Our seniors enjoyed a very successful start to their SISAC basketball season. Both the boys and girls teams faced YCIS for their opening matches at the start of the eight-week season which will culminate in an end of season playoff in January. Both teams have been training throughout the term and were eagerly anticipating this first match on Wednesday last week. The girls travelled to YCIS with a squad of 11 and played extremely well. They took control early on and finished as 20-8 winners. Joey was the top scorer with a total of 8 points, with both Jolin and Heather contributing to the scoreline. The boys enjoyed the home advantage at Wellington and were in great form, surging ahead early on with a clutch of points from Efe and Chad and maintaining their lead before building towards a 32-21 victory. Both teams should be very proud of their skill, teamwork and sporting conduct, all of which have combined to secure an excellent start to the basketball season.   Nick Starbrook Director of Sport Wellington College International Shanghai
