A spooktacular Halloween at The Hill

11 Sep 2016
The last few weeks have been a busy time in the school with the Festival of Education, sports fixtures and the International Food Festival. It has been incredible to see so many of our boarders getting involved representing the Hill and school in such a positive way. Alongside school activities we have had a busy time in the Hill with our ‘Halloween Night at the Hill’ on 27th October. For the first time in the short history of our boarding house we were at capacity with an additional 64 boarders joining us. This took us well over the 100 boarders mark and gave us a great opportunity to see how the house coped. I am glad to say that the house, boarders and staff all survived. In fact we had an amazing night of spooky activities put on by both boarding staff and visiting tutors. The Hill was transformed into a haunted house for the night by our incredible interns, while we enjoyed an exceptional Halloween meal provided by our catering team. We started the night with a variety of activities that boarders could dip into, these included an amazing Thriller dance tutorial, traditional Halloween activities including bobbing for apples, make me a mummy and pumpkin carving. With the support of some of our Year 13 pupils, we were also able to transform a number of our boarders into the Walking Dead. The night was capped off with an epic game of capture the flag, with the late evening mist helping to create a spooky feel. We hope to follow up this event with more evenings throughout the year and will be letting you know in time to book up.
