CISSA Football

05 Jan 2016
Wellington has thoroughly enjoyed being a part of the CISSA sports competition this year. We enter a team in every age group for boys and girls and it has been great to see them develop throughout the term. We were proud to be able to host the Girls football tournament and we had 13 different schools in attendance from Shanghai, Nanjing and Hangzhou. The weather certainly wasn’t on our side in what was a very wet day, but it didn’t dampen the girl’s spirits. As CISSA is a non-competitive league and focuses on the development and enjoyment of the sport, there were no winners or losers. I am pleased to say that the majority of games were very competitive and played to an impressive standard. I was pleased with the sportsmanship shown by all players and coaches, as the tournament was played with the right spirit and the girls had a great day. I would like to thank Mr. Palmer, Mr. Shaw, Mr. Littler, Miss Wass, Mr. Sleep, Mr. Thomas and Miss Westwood for coaching the teams. Your time, energy and enthusiasm is much appreciated. Alex Lloyd Director of Sport
