Wellington honours exceptional pupils on 2024-25 Fellowship Award Night
Wellington College celebrated its brightest young minds, most talented artists, and top-tier athletes at our annual Fellows Award Night. Over 150 pupils were recognised for their remarkable achievements and immense potential as part of our Fellowship Programme.
Fellows Award Night 2024
Honouring our pupil leaders in the Arts, Sport & Academics
"Fellowships are our tribute to holistic education," said Dr Charles Debieux, Head of Secondary School. "These awards are about having the passion and drive to succeed in your area but also giving back to the community to model to our pupils, to model our values and our three pillars of being learners, connectors and changemakers."
Wellington Fellows are more than just high achievers. They are role models who embody Wellington’s core values of courage, kindness, respect, integrity and responsibility. When they wear their distinctively colored pins and ties, they stand out as inspiring examples of what can be accomplished through dedication, passion, and a commitment to bettering oneself and one's community.
This year’s slate of recipients includes Academic Fellows who demonstrate singular focus and endless curiosity in their subject areas, Arts Fellows brimming with natural creative talent, and Sport Fellows with clear athletic abilities and a relentless drive for improvement. Regardless of their area of expertise, all Fellows are challenged to push beyond the boundaries of the school's already rigorous curriculum. Along the way, they build character and develop skills like resilience, adaptability, critical thinking, leadership and collaboration. These will be valuable assets in life long after they leave Wellington.
This year, we also honoured two Fellows with the additional accolade of the highest order with the title of Scholar in the Arts for music, and Sports for swimming. These pupils perform consistently at the highest level and are role models even to our Fellows and wider community. Congratulations once again to Melody, our Arts Scholar, & Ettore, our Sports Scholar!
Here are some of our newly named
fellows in their own words.

“I think for the natural sciences, especially for biology and chemistry, they're highly relevant in our everyday lives, like they manifest in the world around us. And it's just really interesting discovering the mechanisms behind the things that we see and interact with every day. And I think not only is there room for creativity and innovation. There's also a lot of room for structure.”

“As a Drama Fellow, we get to explore different theatrical conventions and experiment with new methods and that's really interesting. I feel very proud and honoured to be selected and to be able to work with such incredible people.”

Year 13
Sports & Academics Fellow
“As an equestrian, the area that I love the most is the connection between horse and rider as it's the only Olympic sport where two people and individuals have to work together. It is a great honour to be selected as a Wellington Fellow, and I'm also excited for the opportunities that it will bring me as I'm able to start my own equestrian society, which I'm very excited about.”
