Meet the stars of The Wiz 2022!
Wellington is off to see The Wiz 2022! After months of rehearsal, our Senior School pupils will be presenting this longtime Broadway favourite in the Wellington College Theatre from 17 – 19 March.
You know the story, but we guarantee you have never seen it like this. Young Dorothy Gale lives on a farm with her Aunt Em, Uncle Henry and her dog Toto, too. A powerful tornado lifts her humble house from the ground, buffeting it through the air until it lands in Munchkinland in the Land of Oz.
Dorothy soon discovers that her crash landing has crushed Evamean, the Wicked Witch of the East. Addaperle, the Good Witch of the North, gives Dorothy Evamean's magic silver shoes and sends her on a quest to the Emerald City, where The Wiz can help her return home to Kansas. Dorothy then sets out to "Ease on Down" the Yellow Brick Road.
Along the way, she meets the Scarecrow, the Tin Man and the Cowardly Lion. Together, they embark on a quest for home, a brain, a heart and courage. But Evilene, the Wicked Witch of the West, and her band of Funky Monkeys will stop at nothing to get her sister's magic silver shoes back.
The Wiz 2022 will be welcoming audiences starting 17 March at 7:00pm and will run until 19 March with a special matinee performance on Saturday 19 March at 2:30pm. Scan the QR code below to book your tickets.

Wellington is taking rolling applications for the 2021-22 academic year and inviting future Wellingtonians to join us for tailored campus tours for 2022 entry.
Children and young adults applying for our Senior School (years 9 through 13) and Academic Scholarship programmes are encouraged to visit and experience Wellington first-hand.
