Ingenium Lions impress at ACAMIS Lego League Competition
The year 7-9 pupils students competed in the FLL challenge, which tasked them with designing and coding Lego Spike Prime robots to complete 15 minutes' worth of missions in just 2.5 minutes. This year's theme was ‘Life Under the Water’, and our pupils had to adapt and innovate around a complex underwater ecosystem.
Despite the engineering challenges, the Ingenium Lions persevered. Their hard work paid off too, earning them 2nd place in the Robot Game, 1st place in Robot Design and also the competition’s ‘Core Values’ Award.
In the Robot Game, our pupils showcased impressive coding prowess, manoeuvring their Lego creations to expertly complete the assigned tasks. The Robot Design award recognised the team's exceptional engineering skills, as well as their ability to effectively communicate their design process and coding.
Most important of all, of course, was the ‘Core Values’ Award, which recognised the Lions’ admirable display of kindness, teamwork, and a spirit of friendly competition. This was most clearly exemplified by their mentoring of visiting grade 1 students from another international school in Shanghai.
With these impressive accolades, the Ingenium Lions Robotics have secured a spot at the ACAMIS Nationals in Guangzhou this March!
Way to go, Lions, and good luck!
