The 2024 International Baccalaureate (IB) exam results are out, and, as ever, our graduates continue to impress us. This year’s average score was 37.1 (out of a maximum of 45). This is well above the global average of 30.3. Well done!

Additionally, 5 of our 2024 leavers earned scores of 40 or higher, with 7 pupils achieving full marks on IB Core which include Theory of Knowledge, Extended Essay and the Creativity, Activity, Service [CAS] components. This is our holistic philosophy of education in action. We are also proud to report, 100% of IB Diploma pupils achieved Grade 6 or above for group 2 languages including Chinese and Modern Foreign Languages (MFL).
Wellington’s Head of Secondary School, Charles Debieux, commented "As our pupils go out into the world, we know they are well-prepared to make a difference and positively impact their communities."
Martin O’Brien, Assistant Head of Secondary School (Sixth Form), added, “Our leavers have shown great resilience and determination throughout the course of the IB Diploma, and these set of results demonstrate that. We are extremely proud of our leavers and the results they have achieved. "
The International Baccalaureate (IB) programme is renowned for its rigour, but this is only one facet of its value. The programme itself demands a lot from our pupils in terms of time, passion and dedication. Considering that this is the final IB cohort to face challenges of the pandemic, the exceptional achievements of our graduating class are even more noteworthy.
This year’s cohort has made us proud and are already on their way to some of the world’s finest universities: Oxford, Cambridge, University College London, Imperial College London, University of Toronto, Vassar College, University of the Arts London and more!
We send our Congratulations to our Class of 2024 on their outstanding results and wish you all the best of luck on your new adventures at University!
