Save the date | Introduction to Higher Education evening

13 Dec 2018
We are pleased to announce the College’s annual Introduction to Higher Education evening will take place on Thursday 17th January. This will give parents and pupils of all ages the opportunity to gain a better understanding of the increasingly complex world of university admissions. The evening will be centred around two sessions: Session 1 5:00 to 6:00pm (All year groups including year 12) This session will give parents an overview of the different application systems that exist around the world and will provide an insight into what admissions officers will be looking for in higher education (HE) applications. Steve Tippen, director of higher education and careers, will outline how the school supports pupils in making their HE decisions and also what parents can do to support this process. Intermission - 6:00 to 6:30pm - Senior School staff will be on hand in the V&A café to answer any questions related to higher education.   Session 2 6:30 to 7:30pm (year 12 only session) This session will give the parents of year 12 pupils an essential outline of the school's support systems that exist to help pupils complete their applications. Parents will also be given clear advice about the number of applications pupils should make and the deadlines that they must follow in order to maximise their chances of making a successful application. We look forward to welcoming everyone to the Introduction to Higher Education evening at the start of next term. With a number of additional events and initiatives set to be announced in 2019, it is looking to be an incredibly exciting year for the university and careers programme.
