U19 Girls Win SSSA Tournament at Wellington
21 May 2018
In what was the second SSSA tournament of the year, the senior girls managed a fantastic victory on their home turf. Their tournament started well, with a 2-1 win over SUIS WY. In a tight game, our girls managed to come back from the SUIS equalizer with goals from Amber and Anya.
The team then found themselves facing off against DSS in another tight game with Wellington scoring the only goal to secure a 1-0 win. The girls found their groove in the next game, cruising to a comfortable 3-0 victory over LFS, with all three goals coming from Anya. They then racked up another impressive victory against FDIS, and again three goals were scored in a 3-1 win.
The final game of the tournament for Wellington was against SHSID and it proved a tougher test. A close first period was finally broken with 2 goals from Anya, securing the 100% record and crowning Wellington victorious in this term’s SSSA football tournament.
