Lynedoch wins both the Year 1 and 2 and Early Years Sports Days
23 Jun 2017
Last Wednesday and Friday, Wellington held the KS1 and Early Years Sports Days which were both blessed with perfect weather. All the events were held outside for the first time in the College’s history, with pupils competing for their house moving around each of the activities in their class groups. While winning is always enjoyable, the true emphasis of Sports Day was to have fun, with each event focusing on being inclusive and giving as many pupils as possible the chance to achieve sporting success.
Events like hoop races, bean bag shuttle runs, hurdle races, kangaroo springs, shoot the ball into the goal and the balance-based races gave our younger pupils the opportunity to demonstrate their growing skill and even win a bit of glory for their house. Overall, it was a hugely fun and enjoyable experience for everyone involved: from the participating pupils to their parents who came to watch and cheer from the sidelines.
Well done to all of our young but capable athletes and we’ll keep an eye out for you next Sports Day.
