U13 netball squads battle bravely at Dulwich College Suzhou tournament
05 Jun 2017
On Saturday 20th May, the U13s netball squads travelled to Dulwich College Suzhou for their finals tournament. It was an extremely busy day, with some back-to-back matches which gave the girls (and their coaches) little time to gather their thoughts.
We started off with some strong performances against BISS Puxi, Dulwich College Suzhou 1 and NAIS Pudong. We played well; passing the ball down the court and intercepting strong opposition. Unfortunately, those games ended in narrow losses but the girls were proud of their positive performance during the first half of the day. Their perseverance soon paid off, as the squad won two victories alongside a few more losses, but the results did not alter their concentration, grit and determination to play fantastic netball.
It was pleasing to see the girls pull together as a team during what was a challenging and tiring day. They have improved so much during the season, continually listening to guidance from coaches and adjusting their play to make positive changes.
We will finish the season by journeying to Beijing on 1st June for a netball tournament hosted by Dulwich College Beijing. The seasonal performance from the girls has proven that they will make the most of what lies ahead, and, regardless of the score lines, I know they will work hard, play hard and learn from the experience.
I am already looking forward to next year!
A fantastic season girls – well done.
