U13B netball update

09 May 2017
The start of the day saw us play our first competitive match against our own Wellington A team! The sportsmanship and friendly banter on display between all the Wellington girls was great to see and, despite the B team’s loss, we couldn’t think of a better team to be losing to. During this first game, Calliste and Stefania made an excellent defensive pairing, ensuring that our goal was well protected. Peggy debuted in our center position, taking to the role well and learning how to drive the ball up and down the court. Our second match again Dulwich A Team saw everyone in the team really test their resilience; Dulwich Jinquiao A are a formidable team and we lost 15 to 0. However, this allowed us to bond even more as a team. From the sidelines, our captain, Natalie, gave plenty of encouragement, motivation and feedback to the players, ensuring that we maintained a tight defense and played our best. The third and final match saw us compete against Dulwich Suzhou. This proved to be another great match which saw Serene controlling and driving the game up and down the length of the court. Our team improved further with better communication on the court and they were also helped by a great level of support from our A team who were cheering from the sidelines. Overall, this was a great second tournament for the girls who are going from strength to strength!
