Wellington College hosts BSL athletics match, enjoying success in both track and field

22 U13 Wellington College International Shanghai athletes took to our track last Friday for the British School League Athletics match. The weather was kind and the day was full of admirable displays of athletics prowess and determination. Against local rivals such as NAIS, DCS, DCSZ and BISS Puxi, our athletes took part in a full programme of events, achieving admirable successes in multiple disciplines.. Some of the day’s many highlights came from the following pupils: • Jade, who won gold in the Long Jump A and bronze in the 200m A. • Sam, who won both the Shot Put A and the 200m A. • Tommaso, who was unlucky not to get a gold but achieved two silver medals in High Jump A and 1500m A. • Agnes carried on from her success in cross country earlier in the year with a gold in both the 1500m A and the 800m A. • Daniel achieved a gold in the Javelin A. • Annabelle and Stefania secured silver in the 1500m B and Discus B respectively. • Shangained a bronze in the 200m B. Overall, it a fantastic all-round effort was made by the Wellington College track and field team and we look forward to further success at future meets later in the year.
