Wellington pupils at the JZ Jazz Festival
28 Oct 2016
For the last twelve years, Shanghai has rung out with the sound of Major 7th chords; has danced its heart out to funk and relaxed with smooth jazz.
The JZ festival has been a mainstay of the musical scene in Shanghai for a number of years and this year musicians from the Wellington College Jazz Band were invited to headline the schools stage. Performing alongside some of the world‘s finest jazz performers, the students proved that age is not important when it comes to producing quality music.
The band drew a substantial crowd to listen to their set of jazz standards and all were impressed with the sense of fun and musicality with whom our students performed.
If you missed their performance, they will also be playing at various events throughout the college in the next few weeks and months. Don’t miss your opportunity to hear them! Related Articles
