House netball competition
18 May 2016
We have enjoyed the last 3 weeks of house netball fixtures at Wellington and the finals were held last week. It has been fantastic to see the girls perform to such a high level and the boys have come on a real journey and have made huge improvements in their ability and understanding of the game.
The Wellesley took on The Lynedoch in the final and there was a sense that failure for either house was not an option!
With phenomenal shooting from Wellesley’s Coco Brandini and Lynedoch’s Hannah Paxton the scores were kept close. Alphonse Loh tended to enjoy a game of “Rebound Roulette" a little too often and chances were missed.
Excellent centre court play from Kate Snoddy, Alex Dyckerhoff, Carel Chok and Matt Blisset ensured both teams had good distribution of the ball up and down the court.
Owen Chau and Joseph Cooper were key to their teams’ defence and sent the ball back to their attackers efficiently.
The game finished at 6-3 to The Lynedoch crowning them Inter-House Netball Champions.
Many congratulations to all five houses who made the competition an enjoyable event that was played in the right spirit. A thank you to Miss Godwyn, Miss Westwood and Miss Hawkins for organising and umpiring the games. Next up is Sports day!
