Simon Askew is a dedicated educator with experience in both local and international education settings. He currently serves as Head of Academy at UXI Sport and Education, where he is responsible for overseeing academic operations, student development, and ensuring the quality of teaching and learning. His teaching career includes roles at an international school in Guangzhou, China, as well as at respected institutions in South Africa, such as Kingswood College and Wynberg High School. Across these environments, he has held numerous positions, contributing to curriculum planning, staff development, parent engagement, and the holistic growth of school communities.
He holds a Bachelor of Social Science degree from Rhodes University, along with a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE). His academic foundation is further strengthened by ongoing professional development in areas such as teaching and learning, curriculum design, and student wellbeing. This blend of formal training and practical experience has equipped him to teach with insight, adaptability, and a strong commitment to student success.
Outside of his professional role, Simon has a deep interest in sport, the outdoors, and travel. He values opportunities to explore new places and engage with people from around the world, which has enriched his perspective as an educator. These interests also reflect his belief in lifelong learning and balanced development, both inside and outside the classroom.
