Hazel Gibson

Hazel Gibson

Year 4 Teacher

 

Hazel worked at St. Andrews International School in Bangkok as a year 6 teacher for three years. In addition to her classroom responsibilities, she coached the under-11 netball team and supported the under-13s. Before that, she worked in Greater Manchester, teaching various year groups from year 2 to 6, serving as the science coordinator and coaching the netball team. As part of her degree, Hazel also volunteered as a teacher in a rural part of Kenya, gaining invaluable experience and insight into different educational environments.
Hazel pursued a degree in Primary Education with QTS at Edge Hill University, where she specialised in art. Before this, she earned a diploma in Childcare and Education, equipping her with a strong foundation in both educational theory and practical skills.

Hazel is very active and often found climbing mountains, snowboarding, skiing and walking. Her most recent achievements include completing a half marathon around Angkor Wat and climbing to Everest Base Camp. She enjoys playing many different sports and can also be found diving amongst sharks and shipwrecks. Hazel loves to travel and has visited 52 different countries, with many more on her list to explore. Additionally, she has a passion for trying new foods and experiencing diverse culinary traditions.
