Diane Lapworth
Year 2 Teacher
Diane has always loved English and storytelling, passions that naturally led her to study English Literature at Loughborough University. Shortly after graduation, she moved to Wuhan, China to teach English at a local primary school. It was there she discovered her passion for teaching. After 18 months, she returned to London to complete her PGCE at Goldsmiths University, where she had the privilege of being taught by the renowned children’s author Michael Rosen.
Diane embraced a love of children’s literature and learned how valuable stories are for a child’s development. She then spent five years teaching in London, honing her skills and gaining valuable experience before moving to Shanghai for three incredible years. Her next adventure took her to Abu Dhabi, where she embraced travelling around the Middle East and parts of Africa. However, she missed Shanghai too much and decided to return.
Outside of teaching, Diane enjoys reading a wide range of literature and spending quality time with friends and family. She has a deep love for animals and has had pets since she was a young child. Additionally, Diane loves outdoor activities, especially going on picnics, which allows her to combine her love for nature and good company.
