Year 6 Teacher
Nick has worked as a Primary School English and Theme teacher for two years and as a whole-school PE teacher for one year at our sister school, Hiba Academy Hangzhou. Previously, he worked for 15 years as a Primary School teacher on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia. Nick has a wide range of experience teaching in the Primary setting, having taught years 3, 5 and 6 as a classroom teacher. His speciality, however, is teaching Upper Primary children, helping them develop their academic and personal skills in preparation for Secondary School.
He completed a two-year postgraduate degree in Education after earlier completing a bachelor’s degree in Applied Science (Human Movement Studies) and a bachelor’s degree in Business (Marketing), from the Queensland University of Technology, Brisbane, Australia.
Nick and his wife have travelled extensively around the world, including a visit to their sponsor child in Tanzania. They took a one-year sabbatical to travel extensively through South and Central America and have recently spent three months exploring Southeast Asia. Nick has also lived in Hertfordshire, England as an overseas cricket player for one season and he coached cricket to a variety of school and club teams during his time in England. He enjoys staying fit and healthy through fitness circuits, yoga, bike riding, and hiking. He loves being outdoors and participating in team sports.
