Matthew is originally from the UK and joins Wellington College from Dulwich College Beijing where he taught History, Geography, combined Humanities and Global Perspectives to Senior School students from Year 7 up to IB. He was the Head of Humanities and, most recently, Head of the Individuals and Societies faculty in addition to being a Model United Nations director and a football coach during his time at Dulwich. Matt attained a First Class Honours bachelor degree in War Studies and International Relations from Kings College London. He achieved QTS through the Graduate Teacher program at Sandown High School on the Isle of Wight, where he worked for four years as a history teacher and form tutor. He has also completed courses in blended learning, middle leadership and assessment in recent years. Matthew is excited to join Wellington for the new academic year. He is accompanied by his wife, Jian, and his three children, Kaili, Tiesha and Jiesun. In his free time, Matt enjoys reading historical fiction, playing and watching football, visiting historical sites and museums and watching documentaries. He and his family are very much looking forward to joining Wellington and settling in Shanghai.
