Ciara Marie Whyte hails from a small town in the southeast of Ireland. She studied international business with Chinese studies for her undergraduate degree at University College Cork. Having spent an exchange year studying at Shanghai University, she realised how much she loved this beautiful city and decided to make Shanghai her second home.

She began her teaching career in 2017 and this is where she found her true passion, particularly in the Early Years sector. She has been a teacher for almost six years and finds great joy in the individuality, personality and growth that each student adds to a classroom setting. She loves teaching young pupils their core subjects whilst also emphasising their social and emotional learning.

Ciara is passionate about all types of music — singing, playing the guitar and ukulele. She went to Tokyo, Japan and trained as a Music Together Specialist and had the amazing opportunity to bring everything that she learned back to the classroom. She believes that music is so important in the Early Years because it ignites all aspects of child development.
