Bursar of Early Years

Liya Liao is Singaporean Chinese. She holds a degree in Education and a Master in Business Administration. Before joining Wellington, Liya had worked in EtonHouse international School (Singapore) in the same capacity for more than ten years. She has worked in different international schools as General Manager, HR manager, Assistant Principal, Senior Administrator and Director of Operations. Originally, she worked as a teacher in a middle school for 5 years.

Working in different schools for over 18 years has provided her the opportunity to meet and work with people with many nationalities. These experiences and knowledge have enhanced her understanding and appreciation of differences in culture, gender, ethnicity and religion. She is grateful for the exposures in this field. She joined Wellington/Hiba Shanghai as the Wellington values resonate with the values she has strongly believed in. Going forward, she aspires to contribute further to the development of the school.

In her spare time, Liya enjoys jogging, swimming, rope skipping, travelling and reading. She has a daughter who studies in Wellington College International Shanghai.
