Nicolle Chenjera

Reception Teacher

Nicolle started her teaching career as a Senior High School teacher in Anhui Province. In 2016 she made her move to Shanghai and has since taught across different age groups in both private and government institutes. So far, Early Years is her favourite age group to teach. She has also worked as head of kindergarten and even assisted in training and curriculum development projects. Her goal has always been to create an environment in which pupils have the confidence to realise their full potential.

Nicolle loves working with people and understanding more about child development and human behaviour. This passion stemmed from her time studying for her bachelor’s degree in psychology at De Monfort University (Leicester) and later while living in China when obtaining her PGCE in Early Years from the University of Sunderland. She knows that children are unique and must have a stimulating environment where they can grow physically, mentally, emotionally and socially. She also recognises that successful pupils become successful adults.

Since living in Shanghai, she has also spent time studying Mandarin at the University of Science and Engineering, and she continues to study in her free time. Nicolle believes that education never ends, and hopes to continue with her studies in the hopes of one day becoming an educational psychologist specialising in Early/Primary Years.

Besides work and studies, Nicolle loves cooking and creating cooking content videos, exercising, travelling and playing with her cat named Pioggia (Italian for rain).
