Emily joins Wellington College after seven years of working as a university counsellor at IB schools in both China and Turkey. A native of Tampa, Florida, Emily pursued her bachelor’s degree at the University of Tampa, where she was granted funding to carry out research in the field of sociology. During her undergraduate studies, she was also awarded a scholarship to study abroad at the University of Oxford for a term. Prior to becoming a college counsellor, Emily worked in business and entrepreneurship in both Europe and the US, including serving a boutique outsourced sales and marketing consultancy in Florida.

Emily’s approach to college counselling is both personal and purposeful. She enjoys getting to know each student she works with to facilitate an authentic process of self-reflection, discovery and strategic decision-making around college and career. Highlights of Emily’s university counselling career include supporting successful applications to universities such as Cambridge, Brown, Duke and UC Berkeley.

In her free time, Emily enjoys writing music, playing instruments, reading about history and foreign affairs, learning languages and playing sports.
