Head of PE

Ciaran previously taught at SUIS Pudong, where he served as head of PE and taught IGCSE Physical Education. He implemented and managed all aspects of the PE curriculum, including attending events organized by the SSSA. Before that, he taught grade 2 homeroom at the school and has taught PE to students from ages 5-18. Before moving to Shanghai, Ciaran coached hurling and gaelic football to all ages in Ireland. Ciaran attended the Institute of Technology in Carlow, where he obtained a Certificate in Sports & Exercise followed by a degree in Sports Management & Coaching. He subsequently obtained his PGCE from Sunderland University in 2014. Outside of teaching, Ciaran tries to live a very active lifestyle and plays a variety of sports. He is the coach and player for the Shanghai men’s gaelic football team and regularly competes throughout Asia. His other interests include teaching strength & conditioning classes, yoga, cooking and he has recently begun learning to play Irish music on the banjo.
