James Inglis
Head of DT
James comes to Wellington College International Shanghai from Wellington College in England, where he led the Design, Engineering and Technology department from 2017 onward. During his time there, James managed the rebranding of the department and updated its approach to problem-solving and wider fields of design, architecture and engineering. Before this, he was a classroom teacher and Head of Strength and Conditioning at Trinity School in Croydon. Alongside his passion for practical applied science, James has made significant contributions to the rugby programmes at both schools, drawing on his past experiences as a rugby player.
He studied engineering at the Open University and has since gained his QTS from the University of Southampton. James puts his background in engineering to good use in his automotive interests and will happily watch any type of motorsport. He can often be found designing new parts for his own cars. James is looking forward living in a new city and plans on building an electric motorbike to explore China.
