Head of Computer Science

Before joining Wellington, Xiaohui taught Computer Science and Design Engineering at Bourne Grammar School for 10 years, four of which she served as department head. The majority of her students over the years have gone to top universities, including Oxbridge. Xiaohui has trained many new teachers and served as a subject specialist in a teacher training consortium. While at Bourne Grammar School, she also developed a VLE and led an effort to develop innovative online curriculums for all levels of study. Every month, it receives over 250,000 visits from all over the world.   Before her career in teaching, Xiaohui earned two Masters Degrees from the University of Memphis. She then worked for the university as an Internet2 developer for five years. She has also worked as a senior system architect for Georgetown University in Washington, DC, where she led a team and designed and developed an identity management system that is still running today.   In her spare time, Xiaohui enjoys reading, solving puzzles, crosswords and cryptic crosswords, baking, working out and hiking.
