Teacher of Chinese /Coordinator of Foreign Language Chinese
Sherry graduated from East China Normal University with a degree in Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language. She later pursued advanced studies at Fudan University, where she earned a master's degree in teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages. She holds certifications from EDI in the UK and IATCSOL in the U.S. With over 20 years of experience teaching Chinese at international schools, Sherry was one of the founding teachers at Wellington College International Shanghai.
As the Chinese Language Coordinator, she has played a pivotal role in designing the Chinese as a Foreign Language curriculum for Year 1 to 9, as well as the instructional planning for IB Chinese B and Ab Initio courses. She excels in developing teaching resources aligned with the requirements of YCT/HSK, IGCSE and IB exams, and innovating teaching methodologies to help pupils build a solid foundation in Chinese.
Sherry serves as an HSK test paper setter and supports pupils in obtaining YCT/HSK certificates. Academically, pupils mentored by Sherry have achieved outstanding results in IB Chinese B, Ab Initio, and IGCSE exams. Additionally, Sherry is passionate about arts and history.
