Carry graduated from Shanghai Normal University where she majored in primary school education before taking further studies at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. She taught for six years in a local public school before spending a further eleven years teaching Chinese at Yew Chung International School. There she developed an international perspective that is reflected in her dynamic teaching style. In her spare time she is an avid reader, devouring Chinese and Western classics with great enthusiasm.
