Prior to teaching, Carlene was a hydrogeologist who enjoyed drilling for groundwater and managing large groundwater drought programmes across England. After several years of consultancy work, she decided to do something even more worthwhile and retrained as a teacher. Carlene feels she has joined the best profession in the world! She has more than twelve years' primary teaching experience in the UK, Qatar and China. She is delighted to be going into her fifth year at Wellington College Carlene studied Geology at the University of Southampton and completed a master's degree in Hydrogeology at the University of Birmingham in the UK. She then went on to complete her PCGE at Portsmouth University. When not teaching, Carlene and her husband, an assistant head teacher at the school, keep busy with their two daughters, who attend the Prep School at Wellington College Shanghai. She enjoys travelling with her family and looks forward to seeing more of Asia and other parts of the world.
