Anja began her career in education substituting as a maths teacher while in university. Then, as an intern, she mentored students for mathematics competitions and help them win gold medals at the national level. Since then, she has taught in China for six years in both the American and British school systems. As curriculum developer for the Wasatch Academy programme at the High School Affiliated to Nanjing Normal University, she focused on ways to improve learning opportunities for students and educators. She has also taught at RDFZ's International Curriculum Centre as an A-level and IBDP teacher. Recognising the importance of holistic education, she began incorporating the historical background of discoveries into her lessons. This helped pupils appreciate the beauty of mathematics and the world around us. Anja earned her Masters degree in Mathematics and Education at University of Maribor, Slovenia. As a Statistics enthusiast, she likes reading and following longitudinal research on human development. On days off, she likes to take hiking and cycling day trips. Her great desire is to be able to travel to western China to explore the mountains.
