Originally from South Africa, Monique has a true passion for nurturing young minds. She graduated with a first class Bachelor of Early Years Education degree from the University of Pretoria. Her teaching career began by dedicating four years to teaching children aged five to seven, where she gained invaluable experience working with children with special educational needs and those learning English as an additional language.
In addition to her classroom responsibilities, Monique has taken on significant leadership roles throughout her career, serving as a mentor teacher and head of staff wellbeing. Her commitment to professional growth also led her to obtain the National Professional Qualification in Leading Teaching.
In 2019, Monique embarked on an exciting journey to China alongside her husband, Hector. Their family grew in February 2023 when they joyfully welcomed their daughter into the world. Outside the classroom, Monique indulges in various hobbies that bring her joy and fulfilment. She has a love of singing, dancing and reading. Exploring the outdoors and going on adventures to new destinations with her family are experiences she cherishes. Monique's deep interest in musice specially shone through when she conducted one of South Africa's top-10 children's choirs.
