Andres qualified as a teacher in 2001, first working in London, and later moving to Bristol to work as a year 4 teacher and maths coordinator. In 2006, he realized a lifelong dream to live and work in Rio de Janeiro when he accepted a year 6 teaching post at The British School there. The following year he became the Year Leader for year 6. He went on to become coordinator for the Student Council and house coordinator. In 2016, Andres accepted a leadership post at Taylor's International School, Kuala Lumpur. He has also worked at an outdoor school on Portugal's Algarve.

Andres got his degree in politics / American studies at the University of Wolverhampton and Keene State College, New Hampshire, USA. He completed his PGCE at the University of London, Southbank. Andres has continued in his lifelong learning journey by completing a number of courses such as the Harvard School of Education’s ‘Visible Thinking’ and the Council of British International School’s (COBIS) ‘Aspiring Heads’.

Outside of school, Andres enjoys listening to his vinyl record collection which he insists is the best way to listen to music — unless it is live.  As a chorister in his early life Andres finds peace and harmony listening to and singing choral music. He is a keen photographer and hopes to add to his catalogue while in China.
