Caitlin Quinlan
Teacher of Music
Caitlin is a New York City-born and bred musician who has had the pleasure of living in Shanghai for the past four years. Music has been the focus of her life for as long as she can remember. Caitlin began studying cello at the age of three and has been singing for as long as she had a voice. She earned her Bachelor’s of Music in Cello Performance from Vanderbilt University and her Masters of Music in Cello Performance from Carnegie Mellon University.
She is passionate about performing and creating music and has enjoyed working on an eclectic range of projects involving music, theatre and dance as well as performing on cello with orchestras chamber ensembles, and singing in jazz big bands and combos in New York City, Pittsburgh, Nashville and Shanghai. She takes inspiration from a wide range of genres and can be seen singing Mexican mariachi songs just as well as playing Bach cello suites.
When not in the classroom, Caitlin loves to cook—or mostly eat—ride bikes, learn new languages and see new places.
