Katie Edwards
Katie Edwards
Head of Secondary English
Katie grew up near Bristol in the UK and has been teaching for 19 years. She worked for 14 very happy years as an English teacher and whole-school literacy coordinator at a high performing state school in Ealing. In 2020, she joined the Wellington Family at its Hangzhou campus and has really enjoyed the challenges of teaching at an international school and living in China. Throughout her career, she has mainly taught English language and literature at GCSE and A level and has held a variety of pastoral roles.
Katie gained her degree in English Literature from Loughborough University and took her PGCE at Roehampton Institute, University of Surrey. She also holds a CELTA certificate for teaching English as a foreign language.
In her spare time Katie is mum to two very lively girls who are also Wellington pupils. She loves cooking, writing and running (very slowly) when she has the chance.
