Ling has taught in Shanghai for over a decade and has extensive international school experience in teaching IGCSE science and IBDP biology. She has worked with IBDP students, helping them excel in their internal assessments and guiding them through the Extended Essay process. She believes in the importance of fostering curiosity and developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills in pupils. As well as teaching, she has had strong experience in coordinating and supporting students in their CAS programmes. She promotes the importance of service learning and encourages pupils to reflect on their experiences. She has also initiated and fostered relationships with local and international charities and NGOs to create opportunities for pupils to engage and become global citizens.
Prior to moving to China, Ling taught GCSE science for several years in Oxfordshire, England. A graduate of the University of Sheffield, Ling earned a degree in neuroscience, and taught English in Japan before completing her PGCE at The University of Leeds.
In her spare time, Ling loves to take walks around Shanghai and sample different cuisines from around the world. She also enjoys reading books and watching films as well as spending time with her boys (her husband and two children).
