Before coming to Shanghai three years ago, Rebecca studied in Leeds before beginning her teacher career in her home town of Hull, East Yorkshire in the UK. Having now spent three years in Shanghai, she has found a real love for the city, the people and culture and has a continuing love of learning and teaching. Within her twelve year career, Rebecca has worked in a variety of posts across schools; teaching both English and EAL to children aged from 5 years to 16 years. Alongside this, Rebecca has lead and developed teams to work across the school to ensure each child has to best possible experience of school. Teaching has been a lifelong pursuit for Rebecca, who knew from a young age that this was the correct, and indeed only career path for her. After leaving school, Rebecca then moved to Leeds where she studied History and Primary Education. Joining Wellington is the next step in both her personal and professional life as she relishes Shanghai as her and her family’s second home and is excited by the opportunity to be joining a school as which not only provides world class teaching, but has world class facilities and opportunity both in and outside the classroom for children. Rebecca has a passion for travelling and exploring new places and cultures with her husband, Christopher and their daughter Beatrice. Alongside this, Rebecca is a rather reluctant runner and is hoping to undertake her first half marathon this year in Shanghai.
