Mira Gao
Teacher of Mathematics
Alex has been teaching English language and literature, through a range of specifications, including GCSE, IGCSE, IB and ‘A’ level for over twenty years-and has loved every minute of it.
Embarking on his career in the UK after obtaining his PGCE at the University of Warwick, Alex taught in highly successful state schools for many years before making the change to an international setting, in August 2020, at the British International School Shanghai Puxi. Since then, he has also taught in a European setting, at the British School of Vilnius, Lithuania, and is now greatly looking forward to returning to the wonderful city of Shanghai to teach at Wellington College International.
As an undergraduate, Alex studied English at the University of Wales, and it was there that he developed his love of outdoor sports, especially cycling and running, along with finding his calling as a teacher. In his spare time, Alex also enjoys reading, listening to music and cooking, as well as spending quality time with family and friends. Alex also loves to travel and experience new people and places whenever possible.
